Dr Ron: “Norovirus is a virus that causes approximately 90% of epidemic non-bacterial outbreaks of gastroenteritis around the world. The disease is usually characterised by nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and abdominal pain; and in some cases, loss of taste. General lethargy, weakness, muscle aches, headache and low-grade fever may occur.”

“Norovirus is currently the most prevalent germ hitting schools. Outbreaks of norovirus infection often occur in closed or semi-closed communities, such as schools, long-term care facilities, overnight camps, hospitals, prisons, dormitories and cruise ships, where the infection spreads very rapidly either by person-to-person transmission or through contaminated food.”
Albany Healthy School’s purpose is to improve infection control for schools throughout the UK, as well as empowering teachers, parents and pupils to achieve the highest standards of personal hygiene and practice, particularly in hand hygiene and the maintenance of a clean environment. Don’t let the nasty little germs win!
