If you’ve ever travelled the world, then you’ve probably experienced your fair share of disgusting and unidentifiable toilets. Although saying that, this country can also produce some truly uninviting rest rooms….local pub anyone?
So, the Albany team has been trawling the web and discovered six of the worst toilets from around the globe; from Thailand to Mozambique; to highlight, if anything; how lucky we are to have relatively clean and orderly public loos available. Just to mention that some of the following images could turn the stomach, so make sure you’ve eaten already!
1) Thailand (See Above)
We take it the cleaner hasn’t been in for a while judging by this neglected toilet in Thailand. However, they may or may not return to collect their broom….
2) Himalayas
What a huge disappointment after a long, exhausting mountain trek to be greeted by this? Ah well, at least they provided some loo roll.

3) Siberia
The interior designers behind this toilet were obviously going for the minimalist look. We think a lick of paint wouldn’t go amiss though…

4) Madagascar
We’re not entirely sure what technique to adopt with this one, but the overall goal is to avoid falling in!

5) Kenya
This outdoor loo may lack the home comforts that we’re all accustomed to, but you can’t argue with the ostensible air ventilation system and easy-access entrance.

6) Mozambique
This toilet in rural Mozambique is quite literally a hole in the ground; however the spacious cane wrap-around wall has imparted a little bit of charm and privacy. We reckon you could swing a mountain goat in there too…

Hopefully you’ve managed to constrain the surrender of your insides, but these stark images do invoke a serious message surrounding toilet health and hygiene. Many of the above inhabitants struggle to avoid the germs and infections that freely live and breed in these toilets, so it certainly brings it home once you realise what they have to endure on a daily basis.
Albany acknowledge the importance of hand hygiene in any toilet, and our adept washroom solutions and equipment, including washroom soap dispensers and cutting-edge dyson airblade hand dryers, all contribute to a salubrious, germ-free washroom environment.
