Dr. Ron: Yes, although the greatest risk is behind us for people without a weak immune system. The majority of the pathogen (germ) was released in the first week, which means it can still spread, but not as likely to cause severe harm. The threat that can cause more damage is community acquired MRSA, which is currently rife in the US. There is no vaccine to protect against MRSA and therefore attention to cleanliness should be at high alert when MRSA starts spreading across the globe.
