Question: Some schools believe that they do not need to worry about infections in the summer, they are just winter concerns. What would you say to this?
Dr. Ron: It is true that when schools shut down for the summer weeks, less people catch the more common highly contagious viruses like Influenza and the common cold. But this doesn’t mean that these are ‘winter’ infections – more that children aren’t mixing with each other as much in the classroom and playground and therefore passing on their infections as much. However, many people come down with ‘summer colds’ and doses of flu.
At Albany, we believe that the school summer holidays give organisations the perfect opportunity to update and upgrade their hygiene solutions. With an empty building, when else would you have the peace and quiet to install new facilities?
The start of term is always a busy and exciting time, with school friends (and teachers!) sharing their summer holiday adventures. Why not make sure that it’s only photographs and stories that they swap rather then infections, and upgrade with some of our top of the range hygiene solutions!
